Fall hike at nature preserve

NORTH LIMA — The Beaver Township Park Board will sponsor a fall hike with Amy Schuler of Mill Creek Park at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Beaver Township Nature Preserve on state Route 165 in East Lewistown near New Buffalo Road.

The hike will begin at the open-air pavilion. Participants should wear comfortable shoes or boots and dress appropriately for the weather. The free program is part of the 2009 Nature Preserve Series sponsored by the township park board. The final activity in the series will feature a free presentation by mushroom expert Walter Sturgeon at 3 p.m. Oct. 10.
