YMTA will meet and hear recital

CANFIELD — The first seasonal business meeting for the Youngstown Music Teachers Association (YMTA) will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Old North Church, Herbert Road.

Hosting the meeting and serving her first year as YMTA President is Audrey Rhinehart, from North Jackson.

Immediately following the business meeting will be a recital featuring area students performing on their second instruments. The recital will begin at 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Performers are: Kristi Yazvaz, Dominic DeLaurentis, Jonathan Gant, Hayley Ward, Kyriakos Theophanous, Mary Smerk and Anthony Borzi.

The Limited collects eyewear for charity

The Limited has begun an in-store eyewear collection drive to benefit OneSight, charitable programs dedicated to improving vision for those in need. All eyewear will be donated to OneSight for volunteers to clean recycle, and hand-deliver to one of the organization’s 20 global optical clinics.

All Limited customers who donate eyewear will receive a coupon for a discount on a future purchase at The Limited. Eyewear will be collected through Monday.

Active Aging Week

HERMITAGE — Whispering Oaks Retirement Community, 260 Buhl Farm Drive, cordially invites the community to help celebrate Active Aging Week.

The public is invited for the following events: Monday, 2 p.m., veterans program from the Veterans Administration; Tuesday, 2 p.m., Marimba music with Nick Lakatos, Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., health fair, and 2:30, cancer survivor balloon release; Thursday, 2 p.m., active living every day by the Parkinson’s foundation; Friday, 2-4 p.m., wine and chocolate party featuring music with Max Schang, wine samples from Wilhelm Winery, and chocolates from Daffin’s Chocolates and Philadelphia Candies.

Tourism bureau seeks items for events calendar

WARREN — Trumbull County Tourism Bureau Is inviting local organizations to submit their event information for inclusion in the 2010 Calendar of Events.

Forms for submitting articles can be downloaded from the Web site, ExploreTrumbullCounty.com. Click on the Calendar of Events page. They can also be picked up at the tourism office or obtained by calling (330) 675-3081. E-mail requests can be sent to Info@ExploreTrumbullCounty.com.

Completed forms are required by Oct. 30 and can be sent to 2010 Calendar of Events, Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, 321 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44483.

Austintown schedules senior citizens dinner

AUSTINTOWN — Austintown Senior Citizens Dinner will take place at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at Fitch High School. The cost is $2 at the door, and reservations are necessary. Call (330) 797-3900, ext. 1501 before Sept. 25.
