ATHLETIC GROUPS

• The McDonald Sideliners will have their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.

• McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• The McDonald Arts and Crafts Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• Warren Women’s Connection plans “Let’s Have a Tea Party,” and invites the public to attend a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. • Youngstown Women’s Connection invites the public to a luncheon, “Country Fair,” from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. At Lucianno’s Banquet Room, 1739 D. Raccoon Road, Austintown (in Wedgewood Plaza). Doors open at 11 a.m. There will be a bake and small craft sale at 11:30. Auctioneer Marty Campana, music by Sarah Savarko and guest speaker Shirley Davidson will be featured. • Dublin Grange will meet for a casserole dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the grange hall. Zella Baker will conduct the business meeting at 7 p.m.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

• Friends of the Austintown Library will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the Community Room of the Austintown Library. The first meeting after summer break will feature Master Gardeners Stanley and Linda Vuletich, who will share their love of growing dahlias. This couple volunteers at Mill Creek Park’s Fellows Riverside Gardens and have taught classes there. They have judged dahlia shows in Ohio and have participated in the National dahlias show at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. The Vuletiches are members of the Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society, East Liverpool Dahlia Society, the Dahlia Society of Ohio and the Pittsburgh Dahlia Society. The presentation will encourage others to begin growing dahlias. The meeting is open to the public.

• The Croatian Lodge No. 598 will meet at 12:45 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Court Bishop James McFadden 1650, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, will have its regular meeting on the fourth Thursday, Sept. 24, at 1:30 p.m at Sunrise Assisted Living, 335 McKinley Way West, Poland. A money collection will be taken up for the Veterans. The program for club year September 2009 through June 2010 will be discussed. Hostess will be Noreen McGiffin. • Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club invites the public to “Autumn with Style,” from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road.
