Series record: Westminster leads, 8-1.

Scouting report: Westminster lost to Allegheny, 27-14, last week while Saint Vincent lost to Geneva, 32-17. Westminster turned in a strong offensive performance against Allegheny with more total yards, rushing yards, passing yards and first downs than the Gators. But the Titans threw four interceptions and could not force Allegheny to make any turnovers. Sophomore QB Shawn Lehocky completed 13 of 28 passes for a career-high 161 yards and one TD to lead Westminster, and he also ran for 35 yards in eight carries and one TD. Senior TB Nick McKolosky rushed for 70 yards in 17 carries while junior WR John Naummer caught two passes for 42 yards and one TD.

Scouting report: Grove City lost to Carnegie Mellon, 45-40, last week while Bethany scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally past Kentucky Christian, 41-33. For Grove City, QB Andrew DiDonato set single-game school records with 382 passing yards and five TD passes. His 473 yards of total offense broke his own school record of 400 set Sept. 5 against Dickinson. TB Blaine Miller caught a career-high eight passes while Zach Summy had seven catches for 127 yards and two scores. On defense, junior Mark Rossol made his first career start at safety and made a career-high 15 tackles. For Bethany, RB Eric Walker set a single-game school record with three TD catches while also contributing a career-high 172 rushing yards and another TD. QB Chad Smith passed for 196 yards and a career-high four TDs. RB Solomon Griffin scored three TDs, including a 1-yard plunge that gave the Bison the lead for good. DB Matt Dahle led the team in tackles for the second straight week with nine.

Series record: W&J leads, 38-22-2.

Scouting report: Thiel beat Albion, 20-10, last week to give new coach Kurt Reiser his first win at the helm, while Washington & Jefferson defeated Frostburg State, 34-12. Thiel’s defense excelled against Albion, holding the Britons to 244 yards and forcing four turnovers to keep them from scoring a TD until late in the game. Junior Bryan Villegas led the Tomcats’ defense with 10 tackles, and was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference defensive player of the week. Senior RB Willie Bova led the offense with 75 yards in 10 carries while also throwing two TD passes. TB Dan Hess added 68 yards rushing in 21 attempts.

Series record: Slippery Rock leads, 45-23-1.

Scouting report: Slippery Rock won over Kutztown last week, 27-24, while Edinboro overcame C.W. Post, 31-23. Junior CB Robert Doiley returned an interception 36 yards for a TD with 4:29 left to account for the winning points against Kutztown. Slippery Rock has had three key offensive leaders. Sayquan Scott-Mitchell has rushed for 286 yards in 46 carries and two TDs. QB Rocco Colavecchia has completed 37 of 70 passes for 386 yards and four TDs with two interceptions. Kenny Cottman has caught 11 of Colavecchia’s passes for for 105 yards and two TDs.

Scouting report: Kenyon lost in double overtime last week to Chicago, 37-36, while Hiram was subdued by Gallaudet, 34-7. Hiram got a good game from freshman QB Brendan Rehor, who completed 13 of 21 passes for 35 yards and one TD. Junior wideout Glenn Campbell caught six of those passes, including the TD completion, for 83 yards and a 13.8 yards-per-catch average.

OHIO DOMINICAN (1-1) vs. WALSH (1-1)

Where: Fawcett Stadium, Canton.

Series record: Walsh leads, 3-2.

Scouting report: Walsh is coming off a 24-16 win over Quincy last week, while Ohio Dominican was idle. Junior RB Clinton Blossomgame rushed for 137 yards on 18 carries and two TDs on runs of 1-yard and 35 yards, all in the second half to lead Walsh. Blossomgame’s 35-yard scoring dash clinched the win. He was named Mid-State Football Conference offensive player of the week. Senior Brian Williams returned two punts for 70 yards and two kicks for 60 yards and was named MSFA special teams player of the week. QB Jim Shiplett completed nine of 21 passes for 99 yards while junior Joe Morgan caught six passes for 67 yards and senior Mike McGill nabbed two passes for 32 yards. Junior Jason Stiel led the defense with 10 tackles while sophomore Chris Bivins had an interception. At halftime, Walsh will recognize their athletes of the tear, Megan McDonald (volleyball) and Joe Shardo (men’s basketball), and the top student-athletes from the spring semester.
