13 vacant properties to be demolished soon

CAMPBELL — The city likely will see the first 13 of 137 vacant properties on a demolition list be torn down within weeks, the mayor says.

The properties, including vacant homes and businesses, are being torn down with $727,000 in Neighborhood Stabilization Funds.

The funds are federal money allocated to counties by the Ohio Department of Development.

Campbell is one of several Youngstown-area communities that received funding.

The city has two years to do the demolitions, said Mayor Jack Dill. Bid openings for the first 13 were set for today.
