Police say kiss led to head-on crash in western, Pa.

CLAYSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Police say five people were hurt in a head-on crash caused by a kiss on a southwestern Pennsylvania highway.

Police in Donegal Township, Washington County, have not released the names of the victims in Tuesday night’s crash, but say they included a man who had just proposed marriage to a woman.

Patrolman Rod Bush says the man lost control of his pickup truck when he leaned over to kiss the woman, and swerved into an oncoming car on Route 40 about 8:45 p.m.

Police say the couple were both taken to Pittsburgh hospitals, as were the 31-year-old man and his two children in the other vehicle. Police say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
