New poll shows Obama approval up in Ohio
COLUMBUS (AP) — A new poll in Ohio shows voters in the swing state evenly divided on the Obama health-care plan.
The same poll finds the president’s job approval rating in Ohio is back over 50 percent, leading a general uptick for Democrats including Gov. Ted Strickland. Approval ratings for both men are still well below their peaks, though.
The Quinnipiac University survey released today shows 44 percent of Ohioans support Obama’s health-care plan, 44 percent do not.
In next year’s U.S. Senate race, the poll finds either Democrat running for the seat of retiring Republican George Voinovich would beat either Republican.
The telephone survey of 1,074 Ohio voters was taken from Sept. 10-13. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
