AKRON — InfoCision Management Corp. founder and philanthropist Gary Taylor is in stable but critical condition at Akron General Medical Center after becoming ill, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
He might have suffered a heart attack, but that has not been confirmed, said Steve Brubaker, InfoCision vice president of corporate affairs. The company does not have further details, he said.
A hospital spokesman confirmed that Taylor, 56, is at the hospital but declined to release further information, citing privacy rules.
Taylor founded InfoCision, a Bath Township-based company that has become the second-largest privately held teleservices firm in the country. It employs about 3,700, including more than 1,000 in Summit County, and about 1,000 in Mahoning County.
The company has nine divisions, including units that call for national nonprofit agencies and associations, Christian fundraisers, Republican and conservative candidates, volunteer recruitment and commercial customer service.
