YSU recruit Carlisle helps Hubbard handle Lakeview


CORTLAND — Hubbard senior Jackie Carlisle, a YSU recruit, had 24 kills and 10 digs as the Eagles handed Lakeview its first loss of the season, 25-12, 25-16, 25-22 in an All-American Conference White Division volleyball match.

Marcy Angelo added 14 points and 38 assists and Lexi Starheim had seven kills and six blocks for Hubbard (5-0, 4-0 AAC White).

For Lakeview (6-1, 3-1), Chelsea Kelligher had nine points, an ace and 16 digs, Elaine Kelley had eight kills and one block and Becka Calvin had 15 assists and nine digs. JVs: Lakeview 25-18, 19-25, 28-26.

Champion 25-25-25, Liberty 10-9-15

LIBERTY — Megan Frantz made 27 assists and scored 19 points with three aces for the Golden Flashes (4-1).

Leeann Thompson and Katie Simmons each made six digs while Jessica Nicholas made two blocks and 17 kills.

For Liberty, Vakeyla Merriweather made six kills and Keafia Bell made four kills. Mindy Dykes made six blocks and scored seven points while Jessie Dann made seven assists for the Leopards (1-4).

Chaney 25-25-25, Lowellville 12-21-19

YOUNGSTOWN — Taylor Carter made 11 kills and Jessica Gavin had 25 assists for the Cowgirls (5-1). Danielle Brooks made five kills while Kiara James had 20 digs.

For the Rockets (0-4), Jamie Hymes scored seven points.

JVs: Lowellville, 25-12, 25-21.

YOUNGSTOWN — Dina Daltorio made 30 digs while Elena Andino-Esparra made 13 kills for the Cardinals (5-3).

Christine Pelini made 16 assists and Dominique Zordich made seven kills and 13 digs.

For Fitch (1-5), Jessica Maslach made 12 kills while Sami Ragan had 10 assists and six digs, Britnay Weidenthal scored five points with an ace.

Mineral Ridge 25-25-25, Newton Falls 4-11-11

NEWTON FALLS — Jenna Spockman had 11 points and three kills, Katie Fife had nine kills, six blocks and six points and Abby Riffey had 20 digs and 16 points for Mineral Ridge (6-2).

For Newton Falls (1-7), Destiny Prusky had two blocks and Kelly Casterline had eight points. JVs: MR 25-18, 25-15.

Jackson-Milton 25-25-21-25, South Range 21-9-25-20

NORTH JACKSON — Karynn Maskarinec had 20 points, two aces, 13 kills, two blocks and 18 assists to lead the Bluejays (4-2). Brittany McGee added 17 points and Jessica Ripple had 14 kills and 21 digs.

For South Range (2-6), Madison Yanek had seven points, Patty Schuster had seven kills and Heather Berry had 10 digs.

Lordstown 25-25-25, Ledgemont 12-20-16

LORDSTOWN — Kaylie Luzadder made six kills while Katie Bellay made three digs and scored two aces for the Red Devils (5-1, 4-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Chelsea Moherman made 26 assists and scored 15 points while Kaitlynne Cassidu made six blocks.

LISBON — Jessica McGeehan had 10 kills, 22 assists, 16 points and six aces to lead BL (8-1), while Michela Nicholson added nine kills, 17 assists and eight points

Noelle Amato had two kills and 14 assists, Emmelee McIntosh had three blocks and Sarah Drysdale had nine kills for Wellsville.

SEBRING — Taylor Nannah had 12 points, 10 kills and seven blocks for Sebring (0-6, 0-3), while Emily Dickens had five points and five assists.

HOWLAND — Nia Grant had 17 kills and four blocks, Kaylee Redon had 13 kills, a block and three aces and Elena Rounsley had 33 assists and two aces to lead Howland.

BERLIN CENTER — Chloe Toman scored 16 points with five aces and made four kills and two digs for the Blue Devils. Kristin O’Connell scored nine points with two aces.

BERLIN CENTER — Sam Donges scored 15 points with three aces and made two blocks and nine digs for the Blue Devils. Victoria Brown had four points, 13 kills and seven blocks.
