A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown.

CANFIELD

Sept. 8

Drugs abuse: Police arrested a Youngstown woman on a charge of drug abuse after police found six Vicodin pills in her car at Talsman Drive and East Main Street.

Sept. 10

Bad check: Angie Nettas’s Bakery Cafe, 64 Cardinal Drive, reported receiving a check for $10,169 that was returned from the bank with a stop payment on it.

Dissemination of harmful material to a juvenile: A woman from the 500 block of Briarcliff Drive came to the Canfield police department concerning her 16-year-old daughter and reported receiving a manila mail package with a DVD in it marked “Study This.”

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 7

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to a man for disorderly conduct at the Wedgewood Plaza, 17390 S. Raccoon Road.

Obstructing official business: Police charged a man with obstructing official business and turned him over to Niles police on a warrant at Club 76, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Attempted burglary: Damage was done to a screen in an attempted burglary at a home in the 4000 block of Claridge Drive.

Theft: A white gold women’s wedding and engagement ring worth $9,500 was stolen from a home in the 50 block of S. Roanoke Ave.

Assault: A 13-year-old boy reported he was confronted by four other males at Rosemont Drive at Elmwood Avenue, and one male took a game away from him, struck him in the face and then knocked him to the ground.

Sept. 8

Auto theft/recovered property: A 2002 Ford Explorer was taken and later recovered at Conroy’s Express, 3670 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto at a home in the 5000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Felonious assault: A man was charged with felonious assault of his wife after he rammed his truck into her car, causing extensive damage, in the South Warwick Drive area.

Theft: An Alpine stereo and an Ohio license plate were stolen from an auto at Regal Cinemas, 6020 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Money was stolen from a home in the 40 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Theft: An AM-FM CD player was stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Theft: Landscaping stone was stolen from a home in the 60 block of Westminster Ave.

Bad checks: A man is a suspect in passing bad checks at Advance Check, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A man was threatened by e-mails and texts with bodily harm by another man in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.

Theft: An Ohio license and debit card were stolen from an auto in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown onto a driveway at a home in the 1000 block of South Clearwater Cove.

Theft: A lawn mower and basketball were taken from a driveway in the 200 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Tires were cut on a vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Sept. 9

Theft: A GPS and a victim’s wallet were stolen from an auto at a home in the 1000 block of Moorefield Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A window was damaged at a home in the 200 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft: A Garmin GPS was stolen from an auto at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Criminal damaging: Four trailers had 21 tires cut at Fyda Freightliner, 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Disturbance: Five subjects were involved in a confrontation during which a vehicle was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Wilcox Road.

Sept. 10

Telecommunications harassment: An ex-boyfriend is accused of making harassing calls and texts and calling family members and the victim’s probation officer at a home in the 4000 block of Wedgewood Drive.

Attempted auto theft: Two teenage males attempted to steal a motorcycle from a driveway at a home in the 3000 block of Ayrshire Drive.

Aggravated menacing: A woman is accused of aggravated menacing at Briarfield at Ashley Circle, 5291 Ashley Circle.

Theft: A tool box with four handguns in it was taken from an auto in the parking lot of Dr. WIlliam Sweeney’s office, 5667 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: A man is a suspect in making hang-up calls and sending numerous text messages to another man at a home in the 5000 block of Baker Street.

Criminal damaging: A window as damaged at the AFSCME Ohio Council, 150 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: $550 was stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Westchester Drive.

Sept. 11

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued two summonses for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at Mahoning Avenue and Beverly Avenue. Police found marijuana, Vicodin, oxycodone and a marijuana pipe.

Theft: A criminal summons for theft was issued to a Youngstown woman at IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A credit card was stolen and charges were made at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Disorderly conduct: A man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Vehicle theft/recovered property: A 2003 Ford F-250 was stolen at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road, and later recovered by Boardman police.

Drug offense: Police issues summonses to four juveniles issued for curfew violation and drug charges are still pending in the 300 block of Rosemont Avenue.

Sept. 12

Recovered property: A wallet and identification were located at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police issued a man a summons for shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 13

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a man a summons for disorderly conduct at a home in the 10 block of North Turner Road.

Drug offense: Police charged a Youngstown woman with possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia-rolling papers, suspected marijuana and heroin, which was found in her car at EconoLodge, 5431 1‚Ñ2 Seventy-Six Drive.

Burglary: A screen was cut to gain entry at a home in the 1000 block of North Main Street.

Theft: A wallet with an undetermined amount of cash in it was taken from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of apartments in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Theft: A cell phone and steering knob were stolen from an auto in the parking lot of apartments in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Slippery Rock Drive and Meanderwood Drive.

Theft: Money was stolen at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was scratched at Wal-Mart.

Theft: A man was issued a summons for theft at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave. and a warrant from Niles police.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made by telephone at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.
