Farmers National Banc declares quarterly dividend

CANFIELD β€” Farmers National Banc Corp. has declared a dividend of 6 cents per common share, payable Sept. 30 to shareholders of record on Sept. 18. The third-quarter dividend is half of the dividend that was paid in the previous quarter.

Reducing the dividend will help the company retain a stronger capital position, said Frank Paden, Farmers president.

β€œAt this time, our directors have determined it would be prudent to preserve capital and strengthen our balance sheet, given the current challenging economic times which have negatively impacted earnings for most banks,” he said.
