BINGO, CARD PARTIES

• St. Patrick Church Altar and Rosary Society will have a card and bingo party at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the church hall, Main Street, Hubbard. The donation will be $5 at the door and will include a light lunch, table and door prizes, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle.

CRAFT SHOWS

• Stan Hywet Needlework Guild will present a needlework show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1-4 at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, 714 N. Portage Path, Akron. Crafters may submit entries for the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25, 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 26, and noon to 4 p.m. Sept.27. • Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, is accepting crafters and vendors for a craft show scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17. An 8-foot table can be rented for $20. The show will be advertised and in an air-conditioned hall. FESTIVALS

• Leetonia Artisans Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wick Park, Leetonia. Selected arts and crafts will be exhibited and there will be demonstrations, displays, entertainment, a car show, food, a 50-50 raffle, basket raffles and games for children. Admission is free. • St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will have a Ukrainian festival from noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 27. Admission and parking are free. Featured will be Ukrainian dancers, music by Jack Vasko Orchestra, baskets auction, raffles, children’s activities, and Ukrainian and religious arts and crafts. Food offerings will include pirogi, kolbasi and sauerkraut, borscht, holupki, haluski and more, including baked goods and Ukrainian beer.

FLEA MARKETS

• Salem Memorial Building Association will host an annual indoor flea market and yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday in the gym. Vendors can participate by renting an 8-foot table with chairs for a $10 donation. Setup will be from 6 to 8 a.m. and all items are subject to approval. Mail fee to Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. SALES

• Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, will host a rummage sale. Shoppers will be able to fill a brown paper bag for $4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 From noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, a bag full will be $1. Large items are priced separately. There will also be a bake sale and a lunch bar.

• Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman, 98 Homestead Drive, will have a rummage sale Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with no early sales. The sponsors of the sales are the WELCA, Choir and the Cancer Relay team. There will be many used and new items for sale. Donations will be taken the week of the sale. • Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will have its semiannual trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26. No clothing. Lunch will be available. • Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, is open Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ReStore carries a wide variety of furniture, including a large selection of couches and many large metal professional office desks; used building materials such as doors, windows, sinks, hardware and plumbing; lighting; home decor items; large and small appliances; electronics; toys; books and much more. All items are sold at low discount prices. ReStore takes donations and sells to the public, all to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s home-building program. • Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.

• Southington United Methodist Church Day Circle will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church, state Route 305 at 534 in Southington. Sold for lunch will be homemade bean soup, sandwiches, beverages and desserts. Carryouts will be available. Bag day will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday.

SPECIAL EVENTS

• St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3560 Logan Way, Liberty, will have its annual lamb and chicken roast from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 20. Lamb dinners will be $14 per adult and $7 for children. Chicken dinners will be $8.95 for adults and $4 for children. Dinner includes salad, rice pilaf, hummus, green beans with sauce, pita bread and dessert.
