Hall of Fame Induction \ Austintown Local School District

The Austintown local school district will hold its second athletic hall of fame weekend Sept. 25-26. Ten individuals and one team will be inducted. The weekend will begin on Friday with a pre-game social on the fitness center grounds and the inductees will be introduced before the kickoff of the Fitch-Canton GlenOak football game. The weekend will continue with a banquet at the Immaculate Heart Of Mary Parish center in Austintown, with a social at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person for the banquet and can purchased by calling (330) 797-3900, ext. 1048, or visiting the main office at Fitch High School. Set for induction is the 1983 baseball team (state finalists), along with James D’Eramo (contributor/coach); John “Ace” Federovitch (coach); Robert Roth (Class of ’51, football, basketball, track and baseball); Frank Sachire (’63, football, basketball and track); Randy Bokesch (’67, football, basketball and track); Cole Pentz (’68, football); Andy Kuchmaner (’71, football, basketball and baseball); Michael “Mickey” Pelanda (’73, football, basketball and track); Shari Matvey (’78, basketball), and Robert Tinkey (’81, basketball and baseball).
