Blinskys celebrate twice as much for 50th anniversary

LOWELLVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Tom) Blinsky, 5580 Johnson Road, who were married in a quiet ceremony on Sept. 10, 1959, in Cumberland, Md., recently celebrated their 50th anniversary twice.

The first celebration was a week in an oceanfront home at Cape Hatteras, N.C., with the whole immediate family: son Charles Jr., and his wife, Georgie, and daughters Sami and Bethany; daughter Tami Saviers and her husband, Carl, and their five children, Alison, Rochele, Amber, Carl and Tommy; daughter Jody Swierz and her husband, Tony, and daughter Alicia and son Anthony; and daughter Kimberly Sodeman, and her husband, Chuck, daughter, Morgan, and son, Brent.

The second celebration included the rest of the family and close friends gathered at the Elmtree in Struthers on Sept. 6.

The Blinskys have lived in the Lowellville-Poland area all their lives.

He retired from General Motors in 2006 and she is a Realtor at Howard Hanna.

They traveled to Europe several times and hope to go again.
