William Ash Jr. and wife mark 50th anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN — Rotelli’s Restaurant in Youngstown will be the setting today as the children and their spouses and grandchildren honor Mr. and Mrs. William Lee Ash Jr., of Stocker Avenue, Youngstown, on their 50th wedding anniversary.

It was on Sept. 12, 1959, that Mr. Ash and the former Leona Carolyn Grace were united in marriage at Lincoln Avenue Christian Church in Youngstown.

Their children are Tanya Ash-Hopkins, Traci and Melvin Miller, Kimberly and Osvaldo Figueroa, Kareem Ash-Holloway and Wayne Holloway, Daniel Ash and Sarah Karp of Chicago, and David Ash of Columbus. The family includes 13 grandchildren.

Mrs. Ash is a homemaker.

Mr. Ash is a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed for 32 years at RMI in Niles. Known as Billy, he is actively involved in various social clubs in the area, including A. Philip Randolph and the Hazelton Oldtimers II Club.
