Pentagon: 2 Ohio soldiers killed in Iraq

COLUMBUS (AP) — The military says two soldiers from Ohio were killed in Iraq when their vehicle was attacked by an explosive.

The Pentagon announced today that 31-year-old Army Staff Sgt. Shannon M. Smith of Marion and 21-year-old Army Pfc. Zachary T. Myers of Delaware died Sept. 8 in Baji, Iraq.

They were assigned to the 545th Military Police Company, Arctic Military Police Battalion, U.S. Army, Alaska, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
