Facing new charges
Facing new charges
WARREN — A city man sentenced Aug. 31 to one year in prison for possessing a firearm about the same time as a Jan. 18 fatal shootout at the Lancer Court apartments has been bound over to a Trumbull County grand jury on four new charges.
Taemarr L. Walker, 19, of Jackson Street Southwest, appeared Tuesday in municipal court and waived a preliminary hearing on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
The charges stemmed from Walker’s being arrested Aug. 30 on allegations of driving a stolen vehicle and having a gun under his seat.
Walker’s prison sentence was for having a gun the day Ahmaze D. King, 26, of Lener Avenue Southwest was shot to death at a Lancer Court apartment. Walker was never charged in King’s death. A witness said Walker was apparently defending himself from King when King died.
