A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Sept. 4
Possible burglary: A Grandview Avenue woman said she believed her former husband was in her residence checking for missing property.
Sept. 5
Theft: Someone took a bicycle from a garage in the 10 block of Highland Drive.
Criminal damaging: A man told police someone shot a BB at his sister’s car on Clingan Street, then reported that a BB or pellet was likely what struck his vehicle.
Arrest: Officers arrested a man on Furlen Court on charges of assault, criminal damaging and criminal trespassing after a woman alleged he had smashed a window to her vehicle.
Theft: A 10-pound concrete ornament was missing from a flower bed in the 100 block of Westview Drive.
Sept. 7
Theft: A bicycle was stolen from a yard in the 100 block of Clingan Street.
LIBERTY
Sept. 4
Theft: Two Youngstown females, 16 and 19, were charged in the theft of $186 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road.
Theft/criminal mischief: A Logan Arms Drive woman discovered her mail was tampered with, and that a number of medical bills had been sent to a collection agency, even though she never received the originals.
Drug paraphernalia: A Youngstown man, 25, wanted on a warrant also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a suspected crack pipe was found during a traffic stop near Colonial Drive.
Assault: A 19-year-old Youngstown woman faced charges of assault and disorderly conduct after authorities responded to a fight at a Belmont Avenue eatery. The woman tossed a drink at her fiance, then punched him and pulled his hair, a report showed.
Sept. 5
Criminal mischief: A girl reported school books and supplies in her backpack had been damaged while she was at a home in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue.
Theft: Two Youngstown women, 25 and 26, were charged, accused of stealing $56 worth of pants, socks and T-shirts from Wal-Mart.
Domestic violence: A Youngstown woman, 27, was arrested at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown after her grandmother alleged the woman had punched her right arm, kicked her leg and pushed her into a restroom. The elderly woman had large bruises, police said.
Felonious assault: Township police took into custody a Girard woman, 30, after a Canton man reported having been a victim.
Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Youngstown man wanted by the Adult Parole Authority on a violation-of-parole charge.
Drugs: A Youngstown man, 51, faced a felony count of possession of heroin as police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. Two bags of suspected heroin were found, they said.
Sept. 6
Theft/assault: An 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle near Montrose Street told police three other boys demanded the bicycle and, when he refused to give it up, pushed the accuser off and took it. The boy had scrapes and bruises on his right leg.
Assault: A boy, 14, reported that while walking to a Belmont Avenue restaurant, someone struck him in the face and stomach. He was not injured, however.
Theft: A man in his 20s took two dietary supplements valued at a total of $157 from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A New Springfield man, 43, faced charges of theft, disorderly conduct and possession of a dangerous drug after authorities responded to the theft of food and beer from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave. Vicodin was found, and the man had yelled profanities and caused problems at the store, a report said.
Sept. 7
Recovered property: An East Montrose Street man found a $75 bicycle leaning against his garage.
Arrest: Officers picked up a Youngstown man, 29, in the 1300 block of Montrose Street. He was wanted on a warrant from the township.
Criminal damaging: A 1996 Pontiac Grand Am in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive had its driver’s-side tires slashed.
Arrest: A Niles man, 20, was pulled over on Liberty Street, where he was arrested on a probation-violation charge.
Arrest: Officers tried to stop a vehicle on Belmont Avenue and later apprehended a 19-year-old Youngstown man they said had fled in his car and on foot. He was charged with failing to comply with police and endangering children after an infant, who was unharmed, was found in the back seat.
Sept. 8
Criminal damaging: A man threw a rock and broke a car’s driver-side mirror in the 3000 block of North Gate Road.
Theft: Authorities responded to a theft near Sampson Drive and arrested a 16-year-old Youngstown boy on charges of theft and criminal trespassing after two steel skateboard rails were recovered in a backyard in the 4800 block of Sampson. The boy was released to the custody of his mother.
GIRARD
Sept. 4
Menacing: A Girard boy alleged that while exiting a school bus, another boy threatened to kill the accuser and his family.
Arrest: A Girard boy was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments after authorities had received an earlier call that he was one of two people who threw part of a firearm into a yard near East Second Street. A search revealed a suspected marijuana pipe in his pocket, a report said.
Sept. 5
Burglary: An MP3 player, an Xbox game system, a laptop computer and two other items were missing from an East Second Street residence someone had entered.
Theft: Someone removed $60 and a laptop computer from a car in the 100 block of East Second Street.
Aggravated menacing: A Mosier Road man reported two men threatened via cell phone to cut his throat and shoot him.
Arrest: Police responded to a reckless driver near East Second Street and charged a Girard male with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and menacing. A suspected marijuana pipe was found, and the male threatened an officer, a report showed.
Sept. 6
Assault: A man at a Girard trailer park told officers another man pushed him in the chest after the accuser had asked him to leave.
Sept. 7
Assault: A Dearborn Street man alleged his brother struck him in the face during an argument related to their mother. The accuser had a large scratch.
Sept. 8
Theft/damage: Someone in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue broke into a company-owned truck by breaking a window, then removed a global positioning system unit.
