RTI public offering

PITTSBURGH — RTI International Metals, which operates a titanium mill in Weathersfield Township, said Tuesday it will offer 5 million shares of its common stock in a registered public offering.

The offering is being underwritten by Citi and FBR Capital Markets.

The company expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to buy up to an additional 750,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments. RTI plans to use proceeds to pay down its debt. The stock closed at $21.94 Tuesday, up $1.49.

ScottsMiracle-Gro announces expansion

MARYSVILLE, Ohio — ScottsMiracle-Gro Co. has announced expansion of its main manufacturing plant, building of a new office and purchase of a new facility. The maker of lawn and garden products said Tuesday that the projects will eventually create about 100 jobs. The company currently employs about 8,000.

Ford’s Canadian division, union begin labor talks

TORONTO — Ford Motor Co.’s Canadian division and the Canadian Auto Workers union began labor talks Tuesday after the union made substantial concessions to both General Motors and Chrysler earlier this year.
