WARREN — Freshman John Crowe’s goal after 38 minutes of the second half snapped a 2-2 tie and gave Ursuline the win. Junior Kevin Kablan and junior Manuel Espara had Ursuline’s other goals. Junior Mark Groner scored both of JFK’s goals. Ursuline (1-1-2) goalie Mike Baker had two saves and JFK goalie Gary Bridges 10 saves.
Upper St. Clair (Pa.) 2, Cardinal Mooney 0
STRUTHERS — Juniors Alex Poneleit and Mark Machi each scored a goal for Upper St. Clair (1-0), while Phil Dormish had one assist. Senior goalie Scott Mathews and junior goalie Michael Hast had two saves and one save, respectively, for the winners. Junior goalie David Perry of Mooney had four saves. JVs: Upper St. Clair, 4-0.
West Branch 3, Louisville 0
BELOIT — Brian Snoddy scored two goals and Austen Rekolt had one for West Branch (1-2-2). Matt Latham had three saves for the Warriors and Brad Kress had 12 saves for Louisville. JVs: 1-1.
GIRLS
Warren JFK 6, Ursuline 0
YOUNGSTOWN — Erin McBride registered three goals and one assist to lead JFK (5-0). Jerrica Cooper added two goals, Kelli Guarnieri one goal and one assist and Gina Gelsomino and Megan Lieber two assists apiece to reinforce the Eagles. Helena Democopoulas had one save. Ursuline (2-3) goalies Briana Curd and Anita Smith had 10 and five saves, respectively.
Springfield 1, South Range 1
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Andrea Zubick scored Springfield’s goal with an assist from Braeden Mincher. Katelin Smith had South Range’s goal.
LaBrae 1, Garrettsvile Garfield 0
Julie Gibson scored the only goal of the game on an assist from Katelyn Downey. LaBrae (4-0) goalie Kelsie Daniel had nine saves. Garfield (1-3) goalie Chelsea Cook had 13 saves.
Badger 5, Conneaut 2
KINSMAN — Shawna McNeely recorded three goals and one assist to lead Badger, which raced out to a 5-0 advantage. Adrianna Braho added one goal and one assist and Anglique Armstrong one goal to aid the Braves (2-2-1), while Tiffany Helmuth and Alivia VanScoy each had one assist. Maggie Boyle netted two goals for Conneaut while Rebecca Williams had an assist. Badger goalkeepers Megan Hunkus and Kelsey Flowers seven and five saves, respectively. Conneaut (1-3) goalie Chelsea Loucks had eight saves.
