Police probe man’s death after hotel disturbance

AUSTINTOWN — Township police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old Canfield man after a reported disturbance at a hotel.

Police responded Saturday to the Sleep Inn on Ohltown Road on a call about a man yelling and running through a third-floor hallway. The night manager called police a second time and informed them the man was in the breakfast area and becoming violent.

Upon arrival, police found the man naked, semiconscious and bleeding from the mouth and left shoulder. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he later died.

Police searched the man’s room and discovered the water overrunning in the sink and the bathtub filled with water. The man’s vehicle was turned over to his father.
