Liberty school board approves some supplemental contracts

LIBERTY — Liberty Board of Education has approved several supplemental contracts.
The contracts are: David Flickinger, head softball coach, $3,546; Amber Gallagher, assistant speech and debate adviser, $967; James Bryant, head bowling coach for girls, $2,096; Elizabeth Kall, Student Council adviser at William S. Guy middle school, $13.31 an hour; and Vicky Hargreaves, LEGO adviser at Guy middle school, $13.31 an hour.
The board also opted to go with the School Pool savings program for its electricity through First Energy.
It will apply to meter readings September 2009 through June 2011.
For all of Ohio schools, there should be a $2.5 million savings, and Liberty should save 25 percent on its bill.
The board also approved family medical leave Tuesday for Danielle Songer from Nov. 2 to Jan. 4, 2010.
The board approved Robert Diroll and Elisabeth Kall as certificated staff members as after-school supervisors to be used on an as-needed basis.
Donations were accepted with thanks to an anonymous donor who gave $600 for Ellen King’s eighth-grade class project and donations for opening day and Wellness Fair.
The board also noted donations to LHS band from Jerry DePizzo/O.A.R. Heard the World Fund, $4,500; Liberty Wal-Mart, $2,500; Liberty Band Boosters, a 2004 Chevrolet box van valued at $7,700; and Bill Slabe, a King trombone valued at $400.
