Job Expo draws thousands to Covelli Centre
Thousands of people were flocking into the Job Expo 2009 at the Covelli Center this afternoon.
The arena’s parking lot was full by the time the event opened at noon, and cars were lined up down Front Street and all the way across the Market Street bridge.
Crowds were thinning later in the afternoon, but police were directing traffic to parking areas away from the arena. Earlier, drivers were waiting as long as 40 minutes to get through downtown to the arena, police said.
The Job Expo is sponsored by the One-Stop of Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. It lasts until 5 p.m. today.
