Sharon Regional plans $1.7 million venture in Hubbard

HUBBARD — Sharon Regional Health System has plans for a new $1.7 million Hubbard Diagnostic and Speciality Center to occupy some 11,500 square feet in the former Nemenz/IGA food store at 880 W. Liberty St.

The announcement was made at Hubbard Council caucus Tuesday night.

Construction is expected to begin in October and be complete by late January 2010.

The new center will bring speciality physicians to Hubbard in the areas of cardiology, general surgery, sports medicine and orthopedic surgery along with diagnostic tests including X-ray, ultrasound, EKGs, pre-surgical testing, laboratory tests along with physical therapy and a specialized heart center for advanced cardiac testing.

The center will accept all physical requests for diagnostic tests and therapies no matter what hospital affiliation.

The specialized heart center is a satellite of Sharon Regional’s Heart and Vascular Institute and will offer cardiac stress tests, cardiac nuclear medicine, cardiac echocardiography and general office cardiology through Sharon Cardiology Specialists.
