CANFIELD — Attendance is up again, with the total number for Saturday coming in at 78,965.

Timm Schreiber, fair board member, said the attendance from Saturday is up more than 4,000 people from 2008. The same day last year, 74,936 people attended.

This brings the four-day attendance total for 2009 to 192,638, up 37,378 people from last year.

So far, attendance from each of the first four days has been higher than last year.

Schreiber said Sunday, which has notoriously been the most populous of the six days, should be no different.

He said previously that they’re on par to break last year’s total attendance of 302,186.

The record for the most people in one year was 539,437, in 1979.

The forecast for today, the last day of the fair, is a high of 75 degrees with a chance of scattered thunderstorms throughout the day, according to The Weather Channel.
