Married 60 years, Mr., Mrs. Phillips mark occasion

YOUNGSTOWN — Edward and Agnes Phillips of 1603 W. Hampton Drive are announcing that they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, which was Sept. 3.

The couple have three children, Edward (Diane) Phillips of Youngstown, Richard Phillips of Parma, and Paula (Ilario) Pace of Canfield, and two grandchildren.

On Sept. 3, 1949, the former Agnes Patzak and Mr. Phillips exchanged wedding vows at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown. Both are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Mrs. Phillips, a homemaker, belongs to the I.H.M. Altar and Rosary Society.

Mr. Phillips retired in 1980 after 37years with United States Steel in Youngstown, where he worked as a planning supervisor. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for two years.
