Dinner party honors DeCapitas on anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeCapita, of Forestridge Drive, were honored as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family at a dinner party on Aug. 2 at Caff Capri in Boardman.

Hosts for the event were their sons and their wives, Robert and Brenda, James and Joy, Joseph and Theresa, and Richard and Dawn. Their family includes eight grandchildren, Ian, Ciera, Shayla, Joseph, Taylor, Matthew, Brittany, and Dominic.

St. Dominic Church was the setting on Aug. 1, 1959, as Mr. DeCapita and the former Dorothy Mayfield were united in marriage. The couple are members of St. Luke Catholic Church.

Mr. DeCapita served with the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945, and retired in 1984 after 40 years as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He is a 65-year member of American Legion Post 565. Mrs. DeCapita is a homemaker.
