Girard Free Library schedules activities for kids in September


Girard Free Library announces its regularly Scheduled Story Times for September. For more information, call (330) 545-2508 and the extension provided.

Family Time, Mondays, 6:30 p.m., Sept. 14, 21 & 28 all ages. Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m., Sept. 9, 16, 23, & 30 ages 3-6.

Toddler Time, Thursdays, 10:30 a.m., Sept.10, 17 & 24. Two year-olds accompanied by an adult.

Baby time, the third Friday, 11 a.m., Sept. 18.

Weekly Themes: Sept. 7, “Welcome Back.” Sept. 14, “Hooray for Grandparents.” Sept. 21, “Fall Into A Good Book.” Sept. 28,”Johnny Appleseed Fun.”

Children’s Programming & Special Events: September is National Library Card Sign Up Month. Join us at our library today. Sept. 20, “Kid’s Guide to Money,” A representative from Farmer’s National Bank will be on hand to give children and parents pointers on saving and managing money. Ages 6-12. Please register at the circulation desk.

Adult Programming & Special Events: Sept. 5-7, Labor Day weekend, library closed for three days. Sept. 11, Book Discussion Group, 6:30 p.m. “Captains and Kings”. To join contact facilitators Colleen Kellar ext. 22 or Norma Savarny at ext. 11.

Sept.11: “Patriot Day,” Never forget! Today marks the eight year anniversary of the terrorist attack on our beloved country. Please keep those whose lives were lost in your hearts.

Sept. 11-12: Friends Annual Book Sale. Friday at 4 p.m. presale until 5 p.m. Admission charge $2 over the age of 10. Saturdays hours 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. No Sunday sales. Bring bags. Call for details.

Sept. 14: “$2. A Bag Day.” Buy books all day for $2. Sale ends at 7:30 p.m.
