ASSOCIATIONS
• NARFE (for active and retired federal employees) will have its first meeting after summer break at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Youngstown. All active and retired federal employees, their spouses and friends are invited to come for lunch.
• Yo-Mah-O Chapter, IAAP, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A program on “Health Insurance Plans and Benefits” will be presented by Amy Romano and Darrell Walter of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Reservations are being accepted by Chris Simone, (330) 652-1784.

• McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.
• McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.
AUXILIARIES
• St. Elizabeth Auxiliary will meet at noon Sept. 14 in the private dining room. Richard Bell, director of Hospice House of Youngstown, will speak.
CLASSES
• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will have its regular meeting at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails in Lowellville. All members and guests are welcome.
• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1963 will meet at noon Sept. 22 at Jeremiah Bullfrog’s on Route 224. Classmates, guests and spouses are welcome.
• Woodrow Wilson High School Class of January and June 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the 1946 and 1948 classes are also welcome.
CLUBS
• Austintown II Homemakers Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church. Yearly dues of $10 will be collected. Pat Chamberlain and Trudy Ponevac will serve as luncheon hostesses. Members will work on a community service project.
• K. of C. 2935 Ladies Auxiliary of Girard will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at the club hall. Yearbooks will be distributed and dues collected.
• Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

• That Quilt Group I Belong To has scheduled a lecture and luncheon for Sept. 19 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. Canfield. Tea and cookies will be served when the doors open at 10 a.m. The program will begin at 10:30 and will feature Sandy Lord of The Gallery Quilt Shop. She will speak about “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Hankies and Doilies” and will display items made from them. The buffet luncheon will be at noon. Checks for $20, payable to TQGIBT, should be mailed to Carol Svetlak, 1653 Lynn Ave., Poland, OH 44514. The reservation deadline is Sept. 11.
• Warren Women’s Connection will sponsor a “Joy in the Morning” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. Janet Banner will display her handmade jewelry, and Sheila and Jason Fischer will present musical entertainment. A talk on “Searching for Happiness and Finding Joy” will be given by Debbie Mills. • Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following: Material Girls meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland, for a demonstration on “What to Know About Zippers,” by Gretchen Saunders; Desiging Women machine embroidery group meets at 10 a.m. Friday at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown SE, Warren, for instructions on creative embroidery techniques; Fancy Cutters meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 14 at Lake Vista, 303 N. Mecca St., Cortland, for a demonstration by Judy Gontkovsky on a sewing organizer from 3 quarters; and Evening Cut Ups meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5253 W. Webb, Austintown to work on holiday projects.
• Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield for a “Mystery Stole” program. Members are asked to take 650 to 700 yards of a light shade of worsted yarn and needles to give a gauge of 4 to 5 stitches per inch. The homework is to cast on 90 stitches and knit four rows.
LIBRARY FRIENDS
• Friends of Boardman Library will resume monthly meetings at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14 with a social in the community room of the library. A program on “Owls” will be presented at 10 a.m. by Jeff Harvey of Wild Birds Unlimited. No reservations required for the program. New members and guests are welcome. Membership dues are $10 per year. Hostesses will be Bette Dunn, Mary Ann Elias, Beverly Gibson and Charlotte Vitt.
