Western, Pa. cop accused of helping drug dealers
MONONGAHELA, Pa. (AP) — A grand jury says a western Pennsylvania police officer tipped off drug dealers about searches and arrests and sold drugs.
Monongahela officer George Langan, 45, was arrested Friday while on duty by Washington County detectives and other agencies. He’s charged with obstruction of justice, witness intimidation, dealing cocaine and related crimes.
Langan, known as “G Money,” has been under investigation for several years by law enforcement agencies. Langan declined comment at the county courthouse.
Washington District Attorney Steven Toprani says Langan placed other law enforcement agents in peril.
The grand jury recommended charges Thursday. Toprani says the grand jury identified Langan as an important figure in Monongahela’s cocaine trade.
