Jackson pleads guilty in Auto Zone shooting case


YOUNGSTOWN — One of the men charged in the May 2006 murder of an Auto Zone clerk has pleaded guilty.

Jamaad Jackson, 21, pleaded guilty this afternoon to an amended charge of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and a specification that a gun was used.

Edward Agee was killed in the robbery at the store. Prosecutors said Jackson was complicit in the crime but was not the shooter.

Prosecution and defense agreed to a total sentence of nine years: Six years each on the involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery charges, to be served concurrently; plus an additional three years on the gun specification. He will be sentenced at a later date.
