Hubbard girls earn second win; Lakeview blanks Beaver Local
STRUTHERS — Senior Chelsea Callow and juniors Emily Skebo and Amanda Durig scored for Hubbard in a 3-0 girls soccer win over Struthers on Thursday.
Hubbard (2-3) goalie Mariah Gordon had 14 saves, while sophomore Kayla Kusky stopped 16 shots for Struthers (0-3).
Lakeview 8, Beaver Local 0
Justine Defrancesco scored three goals to lead Lakeview (4-0), which took a 6-0 halftime lead.
Nicole Moldovan chipped in with two goals while Marissa Defrancesco, Shawna Hunter and Kaitlyn Tonkovich each had one goal to help the Bulldogs.
Ali Olbrych, Lindsey Clark and Erica Runyan had one assist each.
Lakeview goalie Elaine Moldovan registered seven saves while Beaver Local goalie Missy Headley had 22.
Badger 2, Py Valley 2, tie
ANDOVER — Badger took a 1-0 lead into intermission and then had to score late in the game for the tie.
Shawna McNeely and Tiffany Helmuth scored for the Braves while Sarah Smith assisted on both goals.
The Lakers’ goals were by Tessa Kellar and Nicole Virostek.
Badger (1-2-1, 0-0-1 NAC) goalie Kelsey Flowers had 16 saves.
Pymatuning Valley (1-2-1, 0-0-1 NAC) goalie Lauren Seman had 11 saves.
Youngstown Christian 4, Ursuline 2
YOUNGSTOWN — Kristi Cooper had two goals and Rashida Strozier one goal and one assist to lead Youngstown Christian to a home win.
Kelli McNeal also scored for the winners while Allie Klump, Natalie Pecchia and Natalie Hoelzel each had an assist.
Youngstown Christian goalie Devanie Womack had 15 saves.
Ursuline had two goalies, Brittany Curd getting eight saves and Anita Smith three.

HUBBARD — Tim Kemner scored the only goal of the game in the third minute of play on an assist from Martin Pederson, to give Hubbard a 1-0 win over Champion.
Hubbard (1-2, AAC 1-0) goalie Steve Roose had 10 saves.

Lakeview 1, Newton Falls 1, tie
NEWTON FALLS — Joe Nickell scored a goal on a direct free kick with about 20 minutes left in the game to pull Newton Falls into the tie, which kept the Tigers unbeaten.
Lakeview (1-1-2) scored early in the second half on Aaron Sesse’s unassisted goal for a 1-0 lead.
Newton Falls (3-0-1) goalie Myron Lard had 12 saves while Bulldogs’ goalie Alex Rosowicz had five saves.
