GOP chief visiting Ohio Dems’ districts
COLUMBUS (AP) — The national Republican Party chief is making stops in Ohio as part of a tour targeting Democratic members of Congress on the health care issue.
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has events planned for Thursday in the southwest Ohio district of Rep. Steve Driehaus, the southeast Ohio district of Rep. Zack Space, and the central Ohio district of Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy.
Steele has dismissed the health care plans of President Barack Obama and Democrats as an “experiment” that he says will cost trillions of dollars and saddle taxpayers with more debt.
National Democratic leaders say Steele and the GOP should be trying to work with the president and his party.
