Piece of McKinley history in Ohio to be marked
CANTON, Ohio (AP) — A piece of presidential history in Ohio will get some special recognition.
On Thursday, Gov. Ted Strickland will preside at a ribbon-cutting at a restored home in Canton where President William McKinley lived. A plaque will be dedicated.
The National First Ladies’ Library in Canton is designating the house once owned by Ida McKinley’s family as the William McKinley Historic Home.
The McKinleys lived in the home for 28 years.
