Victim in shooting is released from hospital

WARREN — One of two men shot Sunday night on a basketball court at the Hampshire House apartments on Fifth Street Southwest was released from St. Joseph Health Center.

Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital had no information on a second man police believe was connected to the shooting, who showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest Sunday night.

The men are a 21-year-old from Arthur Drive Northwest and a 20-year-old from Highland Avenue Southwest, police said.

The 21-year-old was found on the floor of an apartment with a gunshot wound to the thigh. He said he was talking to a female about 8:30 p.m. when two unidentified men approached and pulled his hoodie over his head.

He was shot as he was running away, he said. Police said neither man’s injuries were life-threatening.
