Sorority round-up to spearhead year

YOUNGSTOWN — Members of Youngstown Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority are anticipating a productive year under the leadership of new officers who were installed during a meeting at The Gentry in Hubbard.

Inducted by Eugenia Atkinson were: Marcia Haire-Ellis, president; Gwen Montgomery, first vice president; Eboni Williams, second vice president; Nechelle Benson, treasurer; Lynette Sutton, financial secretary; Charlotte Grant, recording secretary; and Susan Moorer, corresponding secretary.

Among the planned events is a membership round-up at 5 p.m. Sept. 14 at the pavilion in Wick Park; participation in the Heart Walk Sept. 19 at Youngstown State University, and the eighth annual Black Excellence Awards Sept. 25 at Mahoning Country Club. Sorority members will also worship together on the second Sunday in October.
