Livestock project to help feed Valley families

CANFIELD — Canfield Jr. Fair Market is having a livestock project to help feed hungry Mahoning Valley families.

The Mahoning County Farm Bureau, the fair’s market livestock committee and the fair’s senior board suggests that companies or organizations buy livestock for donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

Livestock available for purchase to be donated to the food bank include market beef, hogs, goats and lambs.

The dates and times for livestock auction and sale are 5:30 p.m. Thursday, market poultry, broilers and turkeys; 7 p.m. Thursday, market carcass and lambs and market hogs; 5:30 p.m. Friday, goat milk fudge, market rabbits and market goats; and 7 p.m. market beet and market feeders

The food bank provides food to 150 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
