Cincy lands state police convention

CINCINNATI (AP) — The nation’s largest police organization says it will bring its convention to Cincinnati in 2013.

The National Fraternal Order of Police meeting is expected to bring up to 6,000 people to downtown Cincinnati for the August convention it holds every two years.

The FOP just completed its 2009 meeting in Long Beach, Calif., where Cincinnati police leaders made their pitch to host the gathering four years away.

Besides FOP business, the convention also will bring an exposition where firearms suppliers, uniform suppliers and others will exhibit.
