“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m., WFMJ-TV 21; and rebroadcast on the Time Warner Cable community access channel at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday): Local author William E. Johnson, in the persona of John Hancock, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss his new book, “The Seeds of Love ... and War.” The book is a sequel to his first, “Snug Harbor Tavern: Shaggin’ for Shillin’,” a fictional story that focuses on John Hancock and his fellow patriots of colonial Boston.

Next, Jaladah Aslam and Mildred Delgado from the Youngstown Warren Black Caucus will discuss the purpose of the organization and their upcoming fundraiser to honor local minister, the Rev. Kenneth L. Simon. Guest speaker for the event is congresswoman Marcia Fudge of the 11th Ohio District.

The brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will kick off their James R. Lottier Achievement Week, honoring the local community advocate. Lottier will receive a 70-year membership pin from the organization. Fraternity brothers Jerry Fordham and Harry Johnson will discuss the organization’s national goals and objectives for community service and their upcoming dinner dance to honor Lottier.

The Ohio Commission on Minority Health is presenting a program in partnership with the United Methodist Community Center, OCCHA and Associated Neighborhood Centers on Minority Diabetes Prevention. Diane Morales Dejesus, Amanda Crosby and Juanita Pasley will discuss registration for the program, the nine-month commitment for participants and the benefits they will receive.
