Gutierrez must make $6,700 in Workers' Compensation restitution

COLUMBUS — Workers at Anthony Gutierrez's home remodeling business were full-time employees and subject to workers' compensation payments, a state panel ruled .

The Bureau of Workers Compensation released the decision Friday against the man hand-picked by former Attorney General Marc Dann, rejecting his arguments that the four workers in question were contractors.

"The committee is persuaded by the bureau's evidence and finds that the employer has failed to demonstrate that the workers at issue are independent contractors," according to the decision.

Gutierrez will have to pay restitution of up to $6,700 in case, though he can appeal the decision.
