City man charged with convenience store robbery


YOUNGSTOWN — A 22-year-old city man is in Mahoning County jail for his reported role in the robbery of a South Side convenience store.

Durrell McCall, 22, of Ferndale Avenue, appeared for arraignment today before Judge Elizabeth Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court on one count of aggravated robbery. Prosecutors told the court McCall had no prior criminal record.

Judge Kobly set McCall’s bond at $50,000. He is due back in her court Nov. 6.

According to police, McCall was one of three armed men who stormed into Conroy’s Party Shop on Glenwood Avenue on Oct. 10 and taking various items.
