Kitchen fire damages home in Sharon, Pa.


SHARON, PA. — City firefighters said a kitchen fire did extensive damage to a house at 422 Malleable St. The blaze started in the area of the stove and was discovered shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The fire spread through the kitchen and dining room on the first floor and burned up through a second-floor bedroom and into the attic, firefighters said.

The house was occupied by Choniece McCullough and five children, but firefighters said apparently no one was at home when the fire broke out. No damage estimate was available. The house was insured, firefighters said.
