Heroes of Mahoning Valley is taking nominations

BOARDMAN — The Heroes of the Mahoning Valley Award, presented by the American Red Cross Mahoning Chapter, recognizes individuals whose humanitarian contributions or extraordinary acts of courage have made a lasting impact on our community.

The selected individuals must meet one or more of the following qualifications: performed an extraordinary act of courage, donated countless hours for the betterment of our community or have inspired others through their actions, committed random acts of kindness or devoted their lives to those less fortunate.

If you know someone who qualifies, log on to the Red Cross Web site at www.mahoning.redcross.org to submit your nominees. Nominations must be made by Nov. 19. The Heroes breakfast will be Feb. 6, 2010, at Antone’s Banquet Centre in Boardman.
