Historical society plans traditional high tea

AUSTINTOWN — The public is invited to a Victorian Christmas High Tea to be sponsored by Austintown Historical Society on Nov. 8 at the Strock Stone House, 7171 Mahoning Ave.

Seatings at the national historic landmark will be at noon, 2 and 4 p.m.

The menu for the traditional high tea will include coffees, a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and extras. Tables will be covered with lace tablecloths and refreshments will be served in bone china cups, saucers and dessert plates.

The cost is $14 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Reservations are required and are to be made before Sunday.

There will be a basket raffle. Tickets are $1 each, 5 for $3, or 15 for $15. The winner does not have to be present.

Guests will have an opportunity to take a free tour of the house after each seating.

Checks should be made payable to Austintown Historical Society, and mailed to the society at 1181 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, OH 44515.
