MetroParks positions
YOUNGSTOWN — Judge Mark A. Belinky of Mahoning County Probate Court is accepting applications for the additional seats on the Mill Creek MetroParks Board of Commissioners.
The board recently agreed to increase the board from three to five members. One member will be appointed to a one-year term, and the second member will serve a two-year term.
Completed applications must be postmarked or received by the court no later than Dec. 4. Applications can be downloaded off the court’s Web site at www.probate.mahoningcountyoh.gov. They also are available at the court’s office on the first floor of the Mahoning County Courthouse, 120 Market St.

Trunk or Treat Contest
BOARDMAN — Boardman Park is looking for organizations, groups or businesses to participate in its Trunk or Treat Contest from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday in conjunction with haunted hayrides and other Halloween festivities.
Participation is free. All a business needs to provide is a car trunk decorated with a Halloween theme, someone to pass out candy, and enough candy for 300 kids or more. A business may incorporate its name or logo into the display.
Also being accepted are donations of candy for the kids and prizes for the best-decorated cars.

Board candidates night
McDONALD — The senior class of McDonald High School will have a candidates night for those running for seats on the village’s school board at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school’s Gamertsfelder Auditorium.
The public is invited.
South Range project
NORTH LIMA — The South Range Board of Education will meet in special session at 7 a.m. Thursday for the purpose of awarding the baseball-facility contract for the K-12 building project.
The meeting will be at the board office at 11822 South Ave.
