Coates scores 3 TDs in Warren JFK win


LORAIN — Jim Coates rushed for three touchdowns and Mark Ringold scored two others on Saturday as the Warren JFK High football team defeated Lorain Southview, 32-7.

Coates scored on first-quarter runs covering 11 and 14 yards as JFK jumped out to a 13-0 lead.

Aaron Serrano’s 8-yard scoring run in the third quarter sliced JFK’s lead to six. Ringold scored on a 55-yard reception from Anthony Angelo and a 40-yard interception return.

Coates other touchdown covered 11 yards. He rushed 14 times for 79 yards.

JFK (7-2) was ranked 10th in last week’s Associated Press poll of Division VI teams. In the playoff computer rankings, JFK was fifth in Region 21.
