YOUNGSTOWN — The 50th anniversary of their wedding was observed on Oct. 17 by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hritzo, 3072 DeCamp Road.

The Rev. Richard Lambert blessed the couple during a 5 p.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where they were married on that date in 1959, and where they are members. Afterward they were congratulated by invited guests at a dinner at the Holiday Inn, Boardman.

Hosts for the anniversary celebration were their six children Laurie (Dane) Benson of Canfield, Mary Hritzo-Zeoli and Cheryl Wellman, both of Youngstown; John Hritzo of Atlanta, Ga.; Michael Hritzo of Seattle, Wash.; and Thomas II (Shelli) Hritzo of Hilliard, and their grandchildren, Sean, Jeff and Erica Wellman; Nick and Joe Benson; Nina and Simone Zeoli; and Tommy and Matteo Hritzo.

Highlight of the day was a slide presentation of family memories by Sean Wellman, and dancing to a song sung by Nina Zeoli.

Mrs. Hritzo, the former Marge Hudak, and her husband owned and operated the House of TV and Appliances in Youngstown from 1970 until closing the business in 1985. They are members of the Greek Catholic Union.

Mr. Hritzo served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1992 as an electrician at General Motors. He has been a choir director and cantor for 25 years at the church and is a member of St. Mary’s Golf League.

For the past 12 years, the couple have made their winter home in Clearwater, Fla.
