AUSTINTOWN — The exchange of nuptial vows took place at 3:30 p.m. May 30 as Amy Von Schwarz, a daughter of Rick and Tammy Von Schwarz of Austintown, and Mike Nowakowski, a son of Gene and Carol Nowakowski of Broadview Heights, were united in marriage at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Gary Koerth officiated at the ceremony and a reception followed at the Holiday Inn, Boardman. After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios in Jamaica, the couple live in Fort Myers, Fla.

The bride’s strapless white gown was enhanced with beading on the bodice and featured a laced up corset back and a train.

Scarlet and grey gowns were worn by the bride’s sister and honor attendant Lindsay Von Schwarz, and the bridesmaids, Julie Apthorpe, Nicole Lehman, and the groom’s sisters Jaclyn Jensen and Laura Nowakowski. Flower girl was Alaina Constance.

Mike Apthorpe was best man, and groomsmen were Matt Carroll; James Moorhead, the bride’s cousin; Eric Jensen, the groom’s brother-in-law; and Michael Fontana. Ring bearer was the bride’s cousin, Leland Pringle.

A graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science and mathematics, the bride is a clinical research coordinator with Gulfcoast Clinical Research Center in Fort Myers.

The groom is an assistant superintendant with Shadow Wood Preserve Country Club in Fort Myers. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture/turfgrass science from OSU.
