ALYCIA VARGA | RUSSELL SUTHERIN
YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. James Sullivan officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony on May 16 as Alycia E. Varga of Struthers and Russell J. Sutherin of Salem were united in marriage at St. Dominic Church.
After a reception at the Byzantine Center at the Grove, the couple left for Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. They live in Poland.
The bride is a daughter of Sandy Varga of Struthers and the late Frank Varga, and parents of the groom are Paul Sutherin of Salem and Sylvia Lipp of Boardman.
Given in marriage by her grandfather, Sam Pizzoferrato, the bride wore a strapless diamond white silk gown beaded with Swarovski crystals and featuring a sweetheart neckline.
Platinum gowns were worn by Dana Varga, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Santina Mastoris, Kalah Ragan, Kristen Galgan, Lisa Marapese, Rosalie Opritza, Heather Sutherin and Shannon Sutherin.
Johnny Keener was best man, and groomsmen were Michael Mastoris, John Ragan, Aaron Young, Jason Perkins, Chad Likens, Matt Stafford and Kevin O’Brien. Ring bearer was Byron Stafford, and the usher was Stephen Fabian. Also participating were Kaitlyn and Nathan Fabian.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree. She is an accountant with Anness, Gerlach and Williams, CPAs, in Boardman.
The groom is employed at the Olive Garden in Boardman and is attending YSU.
