A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

Oct. 16

Domestic violence: Police filed a charge against a township man, 20, after a woman reported that while at a Doral Drive store, he had placed her in a headlock during an argument, then punched her in the head and face.

Theft: A woman in her mid-30s stole $30 worth of property from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave.

Theft: An employee with Boardman Molded Products Inc., 1110 Thalia Ave., found out an undisclosed amount of money had been deducted from a business account without authorization.

Criminal damaging: A portion of a lawn and a light post were damaged at a residence in the 80 block of Wilda Avenue.

Arrest: A city woman, 21, was arrested at Mahoning County Court No. 2 on U.S. Route 224 on a warrant from the township charging her with theft of rental property, a fifth-degree felony.

Arrest: Police picked up a 53-year-old Youngstown woman in the 6900 block of South Avenue. She was wanted on a charge of forgery as well as a probation violation.

Burglary: To a home in the 7400 block of Westview Drive through a side door. Stolen were Wii and Xbox game systems and related items.

Domestic violence: A 54-year-old Boardman man was charged with throwing his son down and banging his head against the floor. The son, however, had no visible injuries.

Attempted theft: A Youngstown boy, 16, was charged with trying to break into a Huntington Drive man’s truck.

Robbery: A 17-year-old city boy was arrested near Indianola Road on charges of robbery and possession of criminal tools after a BB gun and two packages of 30-ampere fuses were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The teen used a knife to open the packages, then pushed store personnel who tried to detain him, a report said.

Theft: A $300 air-conditioning unit was taken from a home in the 5600 block of Erie Street.

Theft/damage: Someone broke into a car at a Market Street business, then removed a global positioning system device, a leather jacket and a child safety seat.

Theft: An Arden Boulevard teen discovered a $40 deduction had been made to his account without permission.

Criminal mischief: A garage door in the 7400 block of Yellow Creek Drive was splattered with paint.

Oct. 17

Burglary: Someone kicked in the front door to a home in the 4100 block of Arden Boulevard. Missing were two sets of wedding rings valued at a total of $1,000.

Theft: A dealer plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 7400 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Someone took a detachable compact-disc player and 10 CDs from a car in the 4100 block of Hillman Way.

Misuse of a credit card: A South Avenue man discovered three unauthorized charges to his debit card totaling $84.

Vehicle theft: A 1994 Ford van was stolen at a Lake Park Road business.

Theft: Two people reported the theft of a book bag, a purse and other items from their vehicles in the 6600 block of Applewood Boulevard.

Oct. 18

Auto theft: A 2000 Chevrolet Tracker was stolen in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A worker for a South Avenue store discovered her $100 cell phone missing.

Assault: A North Jackson man at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant told police that when he confronted another customer about using profanity in front of children, the male customer tossed a plate at him, missing the accuser but striking his 7-month-old son. The infant had an injury to his temple area.

Oct. 19

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a car in the 800 block of Mathews Road.

Theft: A $180 GPS unit was removed from a vehicle in the 800 block of Larkridge Avenue.

Burglary: Occurred at a residence in the 5300 block of Southern Boulevard via a rear door. Stolen were $40, various medications and soda.

Theft: A clipboard containing checks and money was removed from a car in the 7700 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft: Someone stole a $200 car stereo/CD player from a vehicle in the 700 block of Havenwood Drive.

Vandalism: A BB or pellet was likely used to strike a car window in the 100 block of Carter Circle.

Theft: A GPS device and a 12-volt cell-phone charger were removed from a car in the 6600 block of Applewood Boulevard.

Theft: Someone took a $100 GPS unit from a vehicle in the 700 block of Edenridge Drive.

Theft: Someone entered a car in the 700 block of Havenwood Drive, then stole a GPS, a cell-phone charger and a power cord.

Fraud: A city man noticed three unauthorized withdrawals totaling $73 had been made to his account at a township credit union.

Theft: A man in his mid-30s took a $600 vacuum from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A man in his 50s fled on foot after stealing six or seven video games from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy faced charges of theft and carrying a concealed weapon after $182 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart. The teen had a switchblade knife, police said.

Drugs: Officers conducted a house check at a township residence, where they charged a Youngstown boy, 17, with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
